Linux Dialup Config
Quickly configure your Linux box for a dialup connection.

First you must login as root and click Programs : Internet : Dialup Configuration Tool. This opens the 'Add New Internet Connection Tool'.
- The 'Add New Internet Connection' tool will automaically probe for any configured modem. If it finds any attached modems it will list them. When it does, click 'Next'.
- Select a name for the Internet connection and then enter your dialup phone number (0844 535 2040). When done, click 'Next'.
- In the next page enter your username (free) and password (internet). Click 'Next'.
- Select 'Normal ISP' in the following page to complete the setup.
Further Configuration
- Now login as root and click Programs : Systems : Linuxconf. This will install Linuxconf. Click 'Quit'.
- In the left menu of the Linuxconf window, expand the 'Networking - Client Tasks' branch and then click on 'Name Server Specification'.
- In the righthand panel, type in the DNS address that was provided by your ISP. Enter your secondary DNS if you have been given it. Click 'Accept'.
- Now select the PPP connection that you have just set up and click 'OK'. The 'Change connection status' dialog box will be displayed. Click 'Yes'. Your Linux modem will now dial your ISP.
- When Linux has logged onto your ISP the connection will appear, allowing you to choose your browser.
